A Flag Burning Amendment? I sure hope not.

Once again, a constitutional amendment for the protection of the US flag from descration Is before the US Congress. It has passed the House of Representatives and will soon be voted on by the Senate. I realize that patriotism may be something a lot of people lean on, but this amendment is a bigger threat to liberty than any protester with a flag and a match.

The burning of a flag may be a powerful political statement, but the right to make powerful political statements without fear of recourse is what makes our country what it is. As much as we have built up the flag as an icon, we’ve managed to develop quite an attachment to it. Even a couple overdramatized urban legends have surfaced over the years. (Example 1, Example 2) The thing that we have to remember, though, is that the while the flag is a symbol of some pretty high ideals, it is still just a symbol. Desecrating or destroying a symbol doesn’t take away what it represents.

Hurts so good!

Re: her work my discomfort

Sounds kinky! However, as the old t-shirt says, "If sex is a pain in the ass, then you're doing it wrong." :P

The Conductor Waves His Baton...

500% more sperm Sang

Because they all knew the words. :P

Is it weird in here, or is it just me?

since this is my first real blog entry here, I thought I'd talk about why we're doing this. The answer is that we really aren't sure. :D

Well, we do have things to say. We're unique individuals. I want to show off random artwork, stories, and general crap. Occasionally, we'll want to rant. Being a US military veteran with liberal political leanings is a unique point of view, and I'm not afraid to share. Being a cartoon addict over the age of 30 is pretty unique, too. And I don't care. :P

Plus, I now have a place to talk about funny stuff, like how the f-word makes LM giggle. lol
